2026 Wage & Hour Pitfalls That Will Raise Your Blood Pressure & Reduce Your Bottom Line!
This seminar will examine the most common wage-and-hour compliance risks facing California employers. We will begin with employee classification issues, then move on to the timekeeping rules employers most frequently get wrong.
Participants will review California’s “greatest hits” in overtime compliance, including daily overtime requirements, seventh-day rules, and calculation pitfalls that regularly trigger liability.
The program will also take a focused look at meal and rest break compliance—often referred to as the most expensive 30 minutes of the day—and explain why a single missed, late, or interrupted break can result in one hour of premium pay.
In addition, we will cover compliant pay practices and final paycheck obligations, including timing requirements, common payroll errors, and termination pay risks that can lead to costly waiting time penalties.
The session will conclude with practical, proactive steps organizations can implement immediately to reduce exposure and strengthen internal compliance practices.
