A Stanford University graduate with a degree in electrical engineering\, James founded KPEN-FM\, which he transformed into K-101 in 1968\, and later launched KOFY-TV.\n\n \n\nJim has dedicated his life to community service\, from chairing the State of Emergency Communications Committee to leading efforts for California's Amber Bill\, enhancing the state's ability to rescue abducted children.\n\n \n\nIn retirement\, he has volunteered tirelessly in Sausalito\, chairing the Sausalito Art Festival\, founding the Sausalito on the Waterfront Foundation\, and serving as Chair of the Sausalito Chamber of Commerce during the COVID-19 recovery.
