DESCRIPTION:Sausalito Evacuation Drill Set for June 28 to Boost Community Readiness\n\nPractice makes prepared. The Southern Marin Fire District\, in partnership with the Sausalito Police Department and local emergency preparedness agencies\, invites Sausalito residents and businesses to participate in a localized Evacuation Drill on Saturday\, June 28\, 2025\, at 11:00 AM.\n\nResidents who are subscribed to AlertMarin in the "Rodeo North" neighborhood (Zone SAU-E009\, pictured below) will receive a message via AlertMarin on June 28th at 10am directing them to safely practice their evacuation plan and meet public safety personnel at MLK Park\, 610 Coloma Street promptly at 11am. You do not have to reside in the targeted zone to participate in the drill\; all are welcome.\n\nWith wildfire risk and climate emergencies on the rise\, community evacuation drills are more important than ever. This event is designed to:\n\n\n	Familiarize residents with steps they should take to prepare for evacuation\n	Learn what to expect during and after an evacuation\n	Provide residents an opportunity to speak directly to local public safety personnel\n\n\n"Practicing evacuation is one of the most effective ways to prepare for emergencies\," said Leah Curtis\, Preparedness and Education Coordinator at Southern Marin Fire District. "It gives people the tools and confidence to respond quickly and safely when a real emergency strikes."\n\n\n\nResidents are encouraged to:\n\n\n	Sign up now for emergency alerts at AlertMarin.org\n	Assemble at least one Go Bag per family member and pet\n	Take one car in an evacuation and know multiple routes out of town\n	Review Sausalito's evacuation maps in advance\n\n\nThe event will feature a brief presentation at 11am from the Sausalito Police Department and the Southern Marin Fire District followed by a Q & A session.\n\nEveryone is welcome bring your Go Bag to be checked by SMFD.
